Use cases / Hiring signals

By the time a job post reaches you, someone else already called

A new posting is one of the few buying signals visible from outside a company: there is budget, a problem someone is being hired to fix, and a person newly accountable for it. Most people hear about it weeks late, from a newsletter, after the competition has already been in touch. A monitor checks the boards on a schedule and puts each new posting straight into your table.

Where it stops working — only five applicant-tracking systems are detected, and monitors only run while the app is running.

Two shapesWatch the market, or watch a list

These are different jobs and they use different sources. Pick by whether you already know the companies.

You do not know them yet

Job search monitor: keywords plus a location, across Hacker News, RemoteOK, Remotive and LinkedIn. New postings market-wide become new rows.

You already have the list

Company jobs monitor: give it domains and it finds each careers board itself, then pulls every open role.

The recipeFour steps

  1. 1

    Pick the monitor

By keyword for discovery, by domain for accounts you track. LinkedIn jobs is the same keyword monitor with LinkedIn pre-picked and a one-week window.

  2. 2

Set the interval and walk away

It re-runs on a schedule and only genuinely new postings become rows. Nothing is duplicated, so the table is a feed rather than a pile.

  3. 3

    Company firmographics

Turn a company name into a company: industry, size, HQ. Turn on auto-run so postings arrive already enriched instead of waiting for you.

  4. 4

    Email finder, then reach out

The posting gives you the timing and the reason. The rest is a normal enrichment chain.

What it costsPay for the work, not the seat

A monitor that turns up twenty new postings a day, each run through Company firmographics, is about 40 actions a day. Pro is $39/month with no action limit; Lite is $19/month with 5,000 actions. The fetching runs on your own machine, from your own IP, so the price stays flat however long the list gets — unlike a credit-priced tool, where every row enriched is another charge.

Where this recipe stops working

The company monitor detects Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and Workable. A company on anything else returns nothing, visibly, rather than half-working. LinkedIn is paced deliberately and is the slowest of the job sources. And monitors only fire while the app is open: closing it pauses them until you reopen.

FAQQuestions people actually ask

Will I get the same job twice?

No. Only postings the monitor has not seen before become rows, so a re-run adds nothing when nothing changed.

How fresh is fresh enough?

A daily check is plenty for most segments. The value decays over weeks, not hours, and checking more often mainly costs you rate-limit headroom.

Does each new posting cost an action?

Yes, one, the same as any other new row. An enrichment column on top costs one more per row it actually runs on.
