My plan still shows Free after paying
Almost always one of three things: the activation code has not been redeemed yet, you are signed in to a different account than the one that paid, or the app has not refreshed your plan. Work through these in order.
1. Redeem your activation code
A code does nothing until you redeem it. Open Settings, find the Account & Devices card, type or paste the code into Activation Code (the field says “Enter activation code”), and click Redeem. On success you see “Code redeemed! Your plan has been upgraded.”
Copy the code exactly. It is case-sensitive, and a stray space at the start or end counts. If Redeem says something else, find your message here:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| “Please enter an activation code” | The field is empty. |
| “Not authenticated” | Sign in first, then redeem. |
| “Invalid activation code” | Re-copy the code from your email and check for spaces or a missing character. |
| “You have already activated this code” | Your plan is already applied. Go to step 3 to refresh it. |
| “This code has already been claimed by another user” | Sign in with the account that redeemed it first, or contact support. |
| “This activation code has expired” or “…has been deactivated” | Contact support. |
| “Device limit reached” followed by a number | Redeeming also registers this device. Remove an old device in Registered Devices, then redeem again. See Desktop app or Chrome extension. |
| “Activation is unavailable — restart Manycrawl and try again.” | Quit and reopen the app, then try again. |
A code belongs to the account that redeems it, and it can only be used once.
2. Check which account you are signed in to
Plans belong to an account, not to a computer. If you paid or redeemed while signed in as one email and are now signed in as another, the second account is still Free. Sign out (the Sign out icon at the bottom of the sidebar) and sign in again with the Google account you used. Manycrawl signs in with Google only, so the account is your Google address. See Sign in and out of Manycrawl.
3. Refresh your plan
The app checks your plan each time it opens, after you redeem a code, after you remove a device, and after you sign in. There is no separate refresh button. If you just paid, quit and reopen Manycrawl, or sign out and back in. If the server cannot be reached, the app keeps showing what it last knew for a while, so check that you are online.
4. Check that the plan did not lapse
A subscription that is cancelled, unpaid or past due returns the account to Free, and so does a plan whose end date has passed. Check your receipt and your payment method. A lifetime plan does not expire.
5. Did the code arrive?
When you buy a plan you receive an activation code by email, sent to the address you paid with (look for a message titled Your ManyCrawl License Key). The plan only applies once you activate that code, which is step 1. Check spam and promotions folders, and search for “ManyCrawl”. If it did not arrive, contact support (below) and say which email you paid with.
Still Free?
Email [email protected] with: the email address you paid with, the email you sign in with, your receipt, and the exact message Redeem showed. Do not send the full code in an open message if you can avoid it. See Contact support for what else helps.
